AECB Report for a Company in the UAE: How to Get It and What Lenders See

The steps to get your company report, what lenders do with it, and what to fix first.

If your company is about to apply for finance, the lender will look at its credit record. This guide shows how to get the company AECB report, how lenders read it with the owners' personal reports, and the problems worth fixing before you apply.

Short answer: To get an AECB report for a UAE company, submit the application on the AECB website, then take the application number, a copy of the trade licence and the Emirates ID of a partner, shareholder or manager on the licence to an Al Ansari Exchange branch. Lenders often check the owners' personal reports too, so review those as well.

Why the company report matters

When a UAE company applies for a loan, a card or trade finance, the lender looks at the company's credit record as well as its bank statements and accounts. A clean record speeds up the file, and an old overdue facility or an error can stall it. Checking the report before you apply lets you fix problems first.

How to get an AECB report for a company

  1. Submit the company's application on the AECB website.
  2. Note the application number you receive.
  3. Go to an Al Ansari Exchange branch (the government portal says there are more than 250 across the UAE) with the application number, a copy of the trade licence, and the Emirates ID of a partner, shareholder or manager listed on the licence.

These are the steps published on the UAE government portal. Steps and fees can change, so confirm them on the AECB website before you go. We do not quote a fee because we could not confirm a current one.

What is in the report?

The government portal describes AECB reports as a summary of financial obligations and payments, covering your credit contracts (loans and cards), payment history for the last 36 months and court obligations, together with a credit score. AECB data comes from banks, finance companies, telecom and utility providers, courts and government entities. Press reports say AECB has also issued commercial credit scores to UAE businesses (Arab News). Confirm exactly what your company's report shows on the AECB website.

How lenders combine the company and owner reports

For smaller companies the owners' personal credit usually matters as much as the company's, because lenders often ask for a personal guarantee. Expect the lender to look at:

  • The company's facilities - open loans, cards and any overdue amounts.
  • The owners' personal reports - late payments and total obligations. Our AECB guide explains the individual report and how to get it.
  • Bank statements and financials - which should match what the credit report shows.

Common problems to fix before you apply

  • A facility you closed that still shows as open. Ask the lender for a closure or settlement letter and have the record corrected.
  • An old overdue amount from a former trade line or card. Clear it and keep the proof.
  • Facilities you forgot you guaranteed. Personal guarantees for another company can show up against you.
  • Figures that do not match your accounts. Reconcile them before the lender asks.
